Extension Permissions

The Glowscape Chrome extension requests the following permissions, each used solely to provide its core functionality:

• Cookies: To access Amazon session data required for Alexa integration.
• Storage: To persist your login session locally.
• Identity: To enable single sign-on authentication.
• Side Panel: To display the extension interface as a browser sidebar.
• Alarms: To periodically re-check your connection and refresh stored tokens in the background.
• Tabs: To open Amazon and ecobee sign-in pages when you choose to connect an account.
• Scripting: Declared but unused. No page scripts are injected by this extension.
• Host access (*.amazon.com): To read session data necessary for Alexa integration.
• Host access (*.ecobee.com): To read the session token required for thermostat integration.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information. Amazon session data is encrypted at rest and automatically expires. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to providing the Glowscape service.

Your Rights

You may disconnect your Amazon account and delete your stored data at any time through the extension settings. To request full account deletion or exercise other data rights, contact us using the information below.
